My Role

My Role

My role is to aid and fill-in for the live AV technician Mathew Jackson, throughout the whole two nights of performances ill be helping behind the desk making sure everything goes to plan. The AV and lighting is just as important as the performance so everything has to be practiced and practiced again until everything is running smoothly.

My first job was set 2 coax cables from the visual mixer to downstairs and the other side of the arena, these are to send the video signals from the live feed cameras directly into the mixer. On the end of the coax cables i attached AV converts so the signal could be put into the desk.
There are 2 smaller projectors and 1 colossal 15000 lumen projector this is used for the middle screen. With this projector you could light up the front of a building if needed, it would be a good idea to try get a sponsor from a similar company that hires these out for my 6 track visual EP.
We had to keep the main projector in its flight case and push it around the outside of the building to be taken up in the lift and positioned in place. The projector to rent cost around £450 pound but really does do the job.
